Tim Peake has landed back on earth after six months on the International Space Station. Yes it’s a big moment but it was funded by our government.
If we have money to send a man into space then we have the money to help the poor, the homeless, for the NHS and for welfare.
I mean know ill will towards Tim Peake or any British astronaut but at a time of austerity when we are being told to “tighten our belts” I find it amazing that we can afford to fund a big space project.
We are told we need to cut welfare to save money but we have the money for space travel.
This of course has nothing to do with Tim Peake who is just doing what he is doing and rightly enjoying it. It has everything to do with our government who consider sending someone into space more important than funding public services and welfare.
We have the money to send a man into space so we have the money for important things.
